Which optin plugin is the better alternative for my blog? With more and more competing premium WordPress plugins it gets harder and harder to answer that question. This article takes a look at two popular WordPress optin plugins: It compares OptinMonster with Ninja Popups in order to help you with your decision in choosing one.
There are several other alternatives to OptinMonster and Ninja Popups on the market which I have compared in separate articles. Go to my main WordPress Optin Plugins comparison to start your search.
Please note that this comparison only looks at the features on paper as reported by either plugin’s developers. It does not and can not tell you if or how well a certain feature will work for you. Because such a verdict would depend on too many variables, including your server setup and personal preference, I have decided to stick to the hard facts for this feature comparison between OptinMonster and Ninja Popups.
OptinMonster And Ninja Popups Feature Comparison
In my comparison I track 29 different features for all the optin popup plugins. In OptinMonster you can find 22 out of 29 of those features. Ninja Popups on the other hand offers 19 out of the 29 features in total.

Even if many of the features compared above overlap between the two competing products there is one very important difference: OptinMonster as well as Ninja Popups both provide a unique interface from which you will create optin popup forms to collect emails and create conversions. Since it is hard to rate the quality of such an interface objectively I recommend that you try both products yourself before deciding for one.
OptinMonster vs Ninja Popups Price Comparison
WPscoop indexes the exact prixing plans of all compared plugins. Please refer to the table below for a quick overview of the prices of OptinMonster and Ninja Popups.
To find the cheaper optin plugin for your individual needs please go to my main comparison article. There you can search for the features you need and then see the exact price you would need to pay for OptinMonster or Ninja Popups (as well as other alternatives).
Price | OptinMonster | Ninja Popups |
---|---|---|
Minimum (1 Site) | 49.00 USD | 20.00 USD |
Maximum (1 Site) | 199.00 USD | 20.00 USD |
Minimum (10 Sites) | 199.00 USD | 200.00 USD |
Maximum (10 Sites) | 199.00 USD | 200.00 USD |
Explanations: The minimum price compared above is the lowest price a product is available for, e.g. the version with the least features. The maximum price listed is for a version of the product that includes all features. For plugins that charge per addon it factors in the cost of all available addons. For some products the price increases if you want to use it on more than 1 WordPress site – the listed price for 10 sites shows if that is the case.
Disclaimer: While we update this comparison regularly we can not guarantee the prices displayed above are still correct and take no responsibility if they changed.

Hi,just a quick question,
If I need to to offer a giveaway just as a signup bonus, is that supported by a plugin (e.g. optinmonster) or the service provider (e.g mailchimp) ?

Hi Andrea, unfortunately I don’t know the answer to that. Did you try contacting Optinmonster directly already?

Looking at your great list I created one of my own. And it would be amazing if you could spare time to check it out here

Hi Thomas,
I have 2 questions for Ninja popups :
1/ It is possible to target only the new Internet users who come on my site (according to the life cycle of cookies) ?
2/ It is possible to put a minimum deadline before the appearance of the pop in (45 seconds for example) ?
It is very difficult to find this information in internet…
Best regard

Even though OptinMonster might be a better choice, I’m still going to buy Ninja PopUps. Mainly because of the price. The fact that you have to pay $200 for the exit pop up in OptinMonster is ridiculous.

Hey,
Kevin here from OptinMonster. Technically, via OptinMonster’s Canvas Addon (http://optinmonster.com/docs/canvas-addon), OptinMonster can hosts both video and social media. Therefore, OptinMonster should have full checks on the Optin Types.
Also, you can load an OptinMonster form on a Button Click, see here: http://optinmonster.com/docs/how-to-manually-load-optinmonster-popup-with-click-of-a-button/
Both of these have been around for a few months to a year.
Just wanted to give a heads up to the features for a proper comparison 🙂

Hi Kevin,
thanks for your comment! A few weeks ago when my optin plugin comparison was first published I have contacted OptinMonster (via your contact form) and sent instructions on how you can submit changes yourself to correct your listing data but unfortunately never received a reply. I would appreciate if you could look that up and submit the changes from your comment through the form mentioned im my message. If you cant find the message let me know and I can send it again.
Regards,
Thomas
