This post will highlight WordPress 2.7 HOW-TO get your theme working again by updating some settings and represent some of the best and significant features added to your Administration Panel.

The first public beta of WordPress 2.7 is here at last. Join the thousands of people already testing 2.7 by downloading 2.7 Beta 1. As previously mentioned on this blog, 2.7 is bringing a new visual design. This design is almost completely implemented, but there are still a few areas that aren’t quite finished in Beta 1. There are also several glitches in certain browsers.

With the anticipation of the release of Wordpress 2.7 growing by the day wouldn’t it be nice if you could access a live demo of the system as administrator without having to download the SVN development snapshot. Well thanks to talkpress.de you can so just that as they have a web SVN demo running live that anybody is free access.

Thanks to Otto for this great post on the heads up on the new comment system for WordPress 2.7. After I read this I decided to get ahead of the curve and switch my Techozoic theme over to the new threaded commenting. I decided to take it a little further and separate pings and trackbacks from regular comments.

Though 2.7 is still a work in progress, we’ve put together a set of wireframes to illustrate how we think it will all turn out, so you can take a look under the hood of the design process, so to speak.

I checked out the current Trunk of WordPress 2.7. At first glance I noticed some cool features in the comment management. In discussion settings you can adjust, after how many days a comment function should be disabled, also the reply depth of a comment is possible to define. Another additional feature is to set how many comments are displayed on each page. Here are some screenshots:
